The big competition for programming and architectural solution of village houses in Serbia, organized by the Ministry of Construction Serbia and Association of Architects of Serbia, held from 13.12.1997. to 05.03.1998, was the first step of the reaction of society to the current problems of building in our rural areas.

In the period from May to September 1998. followed the further elaboration of the selected works in order to " understand better and get deeper in wisdom of the national builder, his skills to create harmony between building and nature, the use of simple geometric forms, proportionally related, harmony and beauty of lines" (prof. M. Marusic, from the monographic edition -  Housing for the village of Serbia, BGD, 1999).
